National Fleet Database
The National Fleet Database (NFD) has been developed by the insurance industry following the road traffic legislation which requires that details of all insured motor vehicles be made available to the Minister of Transport, the Garda Siochana and the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Ireland. Effectively the National Fleet Database is the fleet and motor trade element of the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) which is currently operating in respect of all other insured vehicles.
